Holiday apartments to die for…

About Swell

About

Swell is not an agency. All the properties you see on this site are owned by us. Although they may all seem very different, the common threads connecting them are ones of authenticity and quality.

We do not have a “one style fits all” approach because an Irish cottage has a very different look and feel from a Parisian apartment. So we created a gorgeous cosy nest for the cottage with real fires and comfy chairs and a glamorous pied-à-terre for the Parisian apartment.

You will always find our Swell touches - great mattresses, bathrobes and excellent quality linen. Some properties have an ‘awwwhh’ factor and some have ‘wow!’ factor and we like to think they all have an ‘ahhhh’ factor at the end of the day.

We established our boutique self catering operation in 2003 when we could not face any more disappointment in renting apartments in Paris. “I want my Paris to feel like Paris please.” Amanda bemoaned, “and I bet I am not alone”. She wasn’t, and hundreds of happy visitors later, we are very glad to have made this happen.

Choosing an apartment offers much greater flexibility in many ways over a hotel – a chance to cook, chat, listen to music over a glass of wine and even a small apartment offers much more space, not to mention style, than a hotel room. It’s great for people with kids, as eating in can be as much fun as eating out.

On the subject of style we have a passion for interiors and an eye for detail that many of our guests enjoy.

Our properties are fabulous, but this does not mean they are perfect. Like anywhere, life goes on around them – people may cook, dogs may bark, kids may cry etc and we can’t guarantee that you will not at some point encounter such things.

But with a little music, a little wine and a lot of style we can help you float above it. We are aimed at the relaxed, urbane traveller who appreciates style and quality and we have, in the many hundreds of guests who have stayed with us, only ever had two awful, trouble making guests whose (brow-beaten) partners we felt truly sorry for. We want the apartment to be right for you and the last thing we want is for you to be somewhere that does not meet your needs. From bidets to TVs – if it’s crucial for your enjoyment of your stay, always check with us beforehand and have a look at the ‘is it for me?’ section before you book.

We aim to keep our prices low but we have found to our detriment that if they are too low we attract the wrong type of guest. We never give discounts, because where we have been asked in the past for discounts and granted them, those guests have caused difficulties. Many of our properties were neglected and derelict and with so much time, money and attention invested in them to make them what they are today, we want to ensure we have guests who enjoy and respect them. Many of our guests want that too as so many return time and time again, and I’m sure would not be too pleased to see the apartments damaged.

So whether you would love to live like a Parisian, be the Lord of a Mini Manor in Gatsby House or snuggle by the fireside in rural Ireland – we look forward to welcoming you – in some style.
